If you’ve read my blog recently, you might recall that I made a New Year’s resolution not to work on any other games until Unicorn Rush had shipped.
While I have not spent any time actually coding any other games, I have cheated a bit, as I’ve spent a few hours here and there organizing the artwork for my next game.
That next game is called “Spellchemy”, and it’s an alchemy-themed word-making game which I will be blogging about in gory detail in another month or so once Unicorn Rush has shipped.
I’m a bit of a word game nut, and this is a game I’ve wanted to make for quite some time now. Although I established the game mechanics about two years ago, the game was reimagined with an alchemy theme only recently, and along with that, I came up with some minor changes to the mechanics brought out by the clear theme.
Also, this will be my “Learn Unity” project, so I will be including some posts about using Unity and other Unity plugins to make Spellchemy.
In the meantime, I will be posting work-in-progress images of the artwork to Pinterest as I receive it. I’m working with an amazing artist on this project, and I hope you’ll follow along to see the progress.
The image below is one of the ones I’ve pinned and it links to the Pinterest board for Spellchemy.
